A Most Convenient Truth

So I didn't get this far in life by being stupid. This is something I discovered today.

I borrowed an American Heritage textbook from my friend Skyler because he wasn't able to sell it back last semester. Now that it's finals week, his girlfriend came and asked me about when he could expect it back. This conversation took place when I was asleep yesterday (you may wonder at that, but I literally did not remember the conversation until several hours later because I was, in fact, asleep) and it put me into quite a predicament. I knew he'd need it back very soon if he was to have any hope of selling it back before his mission, but I also knew I wasn't finished with it yet, and I wouldn't be finished enough to take my final for at least another day or two.

Then I remembered that I'm awesome, and the solution became perfectly clear.

I took pictures of each page of the glossary, checked to make sure they were all legible, then returned the book. I have the information I need, which allows me to put off the final sufficiently so I can study. He has his book, and will hopefully also soon have his money back.

It's because of instances like this that remind me that if I can see no clear solution, I'm not thinking clearly enough.
